Experienced Veterinary Nurse
- Seeking to join an organisation supportive of pet advocacy and high standards of care
- Our Vet Rowville location
- A collegiate team environment
To be a part of the Our Vet team.
Our Vet has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our team. We are positioned within the Best Friends Pet Care Supercentre, Rowville.
Being located within a Best Friends store provides additional benefits such as being part of an extended network of like-minded team members with a strong focus on pet advocacy and developing lifelong relationships with our customers and pets alike. Our Best Friends stores have a huge range of pet supplies, a state-of-the-art professional dog grooming Salon, Our Vet™ Clinic and Puppy Pre-School.
Our Vet Clinics have a full service facility with designated surgery, laboratory, pharmacy and kenneling area. We are dedicated to preventative medicine for animals at every stage of life. By preventing health problems before they start and detecting issues before they become serious, we keep pets healthier and happier. We offer a complete range of veterinary services from general consultations, vaccinations and microchipping to full surgery and pathology. All of our clinics have the additional support and guidance by our national Support Centre. In addition, we partner with local shelters to help give abandoned animals a second chance through our Kitten Adoption program.
Each day is fulfilling.
The success of our clinics is largely placed in the hands of our professional nursing team, who make sure everything runs like clock-work, and who approach each day with the perfect balance of diligence and care.
You will actively support all parts of the clinic each day.
At reception, you will engage customers in person or over the phone with warmth and empathy, creating a sense of home away from home as you put their minds at ease knowing their beloved are in good care. Efficient in time management and your problem solving you navigate customer queries and book appointments with the appropriate amount of time to ensure each pet is properly cared for.
Within the clinical space you have been in a similar role and have previous experience, understanding the various aspects of a busy vet clinic. Your familiarity with it all, will ensure you seamlessly integrate yourself where needed in consultations (taking TPR and histories), pre-through to post surgery preparation, monitoring and recovery, and discharge (with administration of medication). You will know how to assist with taking samples for pathology and the use of medical equipment to help the Vet diagnose and treat the condition.
Your skills are supported further by your natural maturity, sensible approach, high work ethic and professionalism. You face challenges with confidence and clarity, ensuring despite the busier times our high standards of care are never compromised.
As someone who is passionate about vet nursing, you will feel a sense of fulfillment in the difference you make. You are the vet's "right hand", a support for your peer nurses and trusted advisor for our clients. You feel rewarded knowing your contributions are at the core of the clinic's ability to run smoothly and successfully.
